Leading sports equipment company, Zenith Sports Limited and its subsidiary, Haggai Sports, have joined the list of partners for the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) Walk Against Drug Abuse, Cultism and Domestic Violence.
The event holds on June 20, 2023, with start off point at Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja GRA by 9am, to terminate at the House of Assembly Complex, Alausa.
The deal was brokered during a high-powered meeting between the two institutions at the corporate headquarters of Zenith Sports in Ojuelegba, Lagos.
Responding on the partnership opportunity, the Managing Director of the outfit, Mr. Paul Maduakor, praised the idea behind the walk, pledging to see that jerseys needed by participants will be provided.
“We support your cause, and happy to partner with the National Association of Online Security News Publishers. Our common goal is to fight against, and erase menace that is gradually eating deep into the fabric of our nation,” he said.
On his part, leader of NAOSNP delegation, who is also the General Secretary of the association, Theresa Moses, thanked the company for the sponsorship advantage, pledging to harness the partnership for mutual benefit.
“We are honoured and humbled to enjoy the support of a foremost establishment like yours, and look forward to working with you for a more mutually beneficial outcome,” she said.
Zenith Sports is a renowned dealer in sport wears, fitness equipment, skateboard, jersey, customised sport wears and shoes.
A subsidiary of Zenith Sports, Haggai, also boasts of the first automated high-speed sportswear factory in Nigeria, a new dimension in indigenous sportswear manufacturing.
Aside providing materials for the walk, Zenith Sports will be fully represented at the Walk.

Last born in a family of 4 kids to Mr. & Mrs Rosanje from Odogbolu local government in Ijebu, Ogun state, the multifaceted Boluwatife shares her experiential journey as a female shoemaker with GODSPOWERPROJECT
GPP– How has the experience been?
RARE– It has been wonderful, you know how life is, sometimes business will be rosy and other times somehow, but in everything you just have to give thanks to GOD, because I really appreciate GOD, it’s not by my power neither by my might.
GPP– What continues to motivate you?
RARE– I think me, I see myself as a product of grace, and the support and encouragement I get from my family and friends continue to push me to do more and do better.
GPP– What are your Major challenges
RARE– Basically financial challenges and another challenge to me is the schooling aspect. I graduated secondary school about 3-4 years ago, now imagine my mates are in school, learning, my major concern now is I dont want to see my mates and dodge, that’s my major prayer. Me not being in school now, GOD knows best, even Nigeria itself is so messed up, because I wrote jamb and passed, but the university are doing as they like. My major challenge is the need to work on my finance, family and schooling.
GPP– Let’s discuss greatest reward and memorable moments
RARE– Rare Creations will be 2 years by October 17, I was trying to pen down my customer database, I couldn’t document them all and I just decided I’d just throw a general anniversary party where everyone should just come, because I intended to do something special for my customers but I lost count. I really thank GOD for every reward, support and love from everywhere.
GPP– Your advice to general public?
RARE– After GOD, the first thing in life is loving yourself, when you love yourself and know what you love, because I know I’m a fashion person and so in life, you have to have self discovery, self confidence and high self esteem. The road to self discovery involves knowing what makes you happy because your happiness should be your first priority because there are times you’ll be down with nobody to help, so you have to cheer yourself up. Like I noticed sketching illustrations works for me.
GPP– Don’t you feel intimidated in this Male dominated hustle
RARE– Do I? I don’t, I’m even proud of it actually, you know it makes a difference being a lady-shoemaker. I say yes, I’m proud of my job, that’s what I do for a living.
I came across my boss- a female making footwear and I thought, ‘wow, a lady can do this too’, but every of her apprentices were male. It became ‘since she can do this, I can learn it also’ so I had it in mind to learn it.
GPP– Where do you see RARE Creations in 2 years?
RARE– I see the business going international outside Nigeria, though that involves working on myself first, because you just can’t go international without knowing what the international market entails, the locations and you know the way we satisfy our Nigerian customers cannot be the same way to satisfy our abroad customers. I want to see my works in boutiques over there, partnering with businesses and companies over there. Home and abroad actually, because you cannot go there and forget your source.
GPP– Describe your relationship with GOD
RARE– I use it as a slang already, when GOD is your Sugar Daddy, you just do anyhow. Because me and GOD just click. HE’S my close pal. We discuss and do things together.
Being a lady in a male industry, there are some touches there, but GOD is my close Pal. HE never leaves me, always with me.
GPP– If not this business what would you be doing now?
RARE– If not this business probably as I graduated from school I’d be in a hurry to enter university and then when I’m done with university I’ll now come back because in Nigeria, after school there’s no work. You just have to make a means of survival for yourself.
GPP– What is the common misconception about ladies in this profession?
RARE– People get it wrong by saying it’s a guys work dont forget the saying that “what a man can do a woman can do better” and some people say it’s a dirty job and I use to tell people my Yoruba proverb that says “its inside the dirt that we find money”
GPP– So how do you handle clients who ask you out?
RARE– Clients who ask me out I go straight to the point, if I’m interested I’ll tell you but if I’m not, we’ll just maintain client-customer relationship. I dont bring fun or pleasure into my business. There was a time I had a boyfriend, I said to him ‘when it’s time to work let’s go straight to the point about business here and when we talk about our relationship that’s another ballgame. If you want to make pam, bro you’re gonna pay but I might give boyfriend discount but you’re gonna pay.
GPP– How did the RARE Creations come about?
RARE– I was in school when I got the RARE,
I was class captain and there’s this room where I usually pray or read. This particular day I was observing a personal fast and the inspiration just popped. So I started wondering what the RARE meant. I have not dreamt of this shoemaking venture then. I only got the name first and over time it started coming to me.

I asked my mum how my Evangel name came about and she said they were on evangelism outreach when she gave birth to me. I was given birth to during evangelism.
So later when I learned the business and looking for a brand name, the RARE was whistling in my head, in my heart and everywhere and I just added the Creations. RARE Creations has been in existence for over 2 years.

In one of the videos of Chief MKO Abiola GCFR, during the struggle of annulment June 12 election someone shared on the WhatsApp platform of “Renewed Hope for Islanders 2025”, which we the media team watched on Saturday morning sparked and pricked our conscience: “It will continue on and off until military released June 12 election results put democratically elected President who is myself (MKO Abiola).”
On the WhatsApp platform, the pioneer and first council leader of our polity called Democracy, Lagos Island local government, City Hall, Lagos in the year 1999, torch-bearer for Renewed Hope 2025, and current vice chairman of Lagos Island LG, Prince Muhammed Rosul Eshilokun commented on the video that, since June 12, Asiwaju has been on the struggle of democracy in Nigeria and his emergence as the 16th President of Federal Republic of Nigeria indicates that the “Hope 93 of MKO Abiola came alive with Renewed Hope 2023 for Nigeria.”
According to him, “With the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The hope mantra of Chief MKO Abiola, GCFR in 1993, is now actualised with renewed Hope in 2023.”
The torch-bearer for Renewed Hope 2025, using the platform to share that Nigeria has a lot to celebrate with 24 years of uninterrupted democracy and its citizens reaping dividends of the civil rule while especially felicitating with the people of Lagos Island, where the struggle for democracy began.
Captured in this article is our submission on the efforts made by the current vice chairman of Lagos Island local government, Rosul Eshilokun opinioned that “The Actualization of Democracy Day Come to Pass” and actively create a platform geared towards agenda best deserves for the people of Lagos Island local government under this dispensation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration.
In our recent engagement on the current unsteady situation of the country, we asked Rosul Eshilokun on a telephone conversation and still ask why instances of Renewed Hope to an average person of Lagos; he rhetorically responds that rekindles hope of Nigeria for better Nigerians expected simple things: affordable lifestyle, regular electricity, good roads, schools, shelters, hospitals, revamp economy and security. He believes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver this in Nigeria and looking forward to keying into this in our locality, especially in Lagos Island, in the future.
For we, have no doubt this government believes democracy is about the people (the demos, the popular masses). Mr President will continue to work in actualising the policies that benefit the masses. Olori Janet Afolabi, Queen of Apomu Kingdom,has given fresh set of market women free interest loan.The loan was given to them on June 2, at Alapomu Palace Hall, Apomu, headquarters of Isokan local government area of Osun state.
The money will be paid back over five months.
Addressing the women,Olori Janet said they should use the money for the purpose for which it was given. She said the money is meant to help them expand their petty businesses or start new ones.
The 50 women were randomly selected and shortlisted by Women Leaders in the community, led by the highest female Chief, Christiana Akinlabu, the Otun Iyalode of Apomu Kingdom.
Olori Janet said empowering the women is crucial for ending hunger and poverty in the rural communities. ” Poverty eradication is key to helping women escape poverty. Many of the world’s poorest people are women.Empowering them is essential not just for rural but national development.”
The free interest loan was initiated by Olori Janet Afolabi in 2020 because after the Covid 19 lock down many women were unable to resume their trading businesses. Most of them had spent their capital. Some of them made efforts to borrow money from families and friends but it was very difficult.
To help these women start again Olori Janet said” I came up with the No Collateral, No Interest Loan as my flagship empowerment project”.

MIRACLE- GOD’S Response To Our Faith
How did you begin your entrepreneur journey?
Last year when I finished service. I served at Ibadan, it wasn’t easy after service when the allawee stopped coming in, you understand, and l didn’t have any other source of living. Just that l have learnt this work before going to school. Thank GOD for that, because if not for that I would be suffering by now.
When did you learn it?
That was 2016 when I was running my ND program, PT.
While I was doing PT I was learning also. I’ve even finished learning before finishing my ND program.
So when I went for my HND program I did full-time. Thank GOD for the work when l was in school I would do one or two for people, you know, fix screens for different people. When we were doing our project, they told us we need flashdrives, CD, and l collected money from my classmates, ran to Ikeja, to buy them. You understand, because nobody will give you money from home. If you call home that ‘please l need something’ they’ll just be giving you different story. You might even be needing 20 thousand and they’ll be sending you 2thousand, 3 thousand. That one cannot do anything, but as a guy man you gats double your huzzle.
Life after Service
Thank GOD sha, when I finished service I searched for work normal normal. We carry our kpally look for work up and down. I studied Business Administration at YabaTech. The journey has been well sha we thank GOD. All the work l was offered l didnt like the pay at all. Some of them will be offering 30 thousand, 45, 40k. I was like which kain payment be this one.
The little that l saved from while l was serving you understand, family and friends. When I told one or two people also they gave me the little they can offer also I got this place

Even when I started i did not even have gen. You know there’s no way in my own type of work here thsy you won’t use gen. So if I have work now, at times l run to my boss’s place in Obawole to fix the phone, take bike, go-come. Around two months later i got my own gen. Even when i started this roof was not there. It was later that i said ‘GOD has done it again so i have to make everything look decent, but ha, the journey is not easy.
I started last year i thank GOD.
Maybe its because GOD didn’t want me to suffer that’s why he let me because I was learning it as a joke then. I learnt on a normal level of dey play and thank GOD for life this is where we are now
Biggest Challenge You’ve Been Facing
You know I’m not a robot and I’m not a machine there’s no way you’ll fix 7 phones. There are some phones that if you fix them now the screen might even break and you have to buy another screen for the customer. You break it you buy it. And the quality of materials they brought to us in this country is not that good. Some are not that okay. Some let me say 60 percent okay. You can fix some today and tomorrow the owner brings it back that the screen is shaking without falling. These are things we normally go through based on challenges. So far so good we thank GOD for life.
Happiest moment on the job
Haa. Its when i get paid for a successful job. Once i fix your phone and you like it. Maybe after two months you are just passing by and you tell me your phone is still functioning. Ehen that’s when I’m always happy most.
Embarrassing situation you found yourself
There was a day that i gave a customer price, and on getting to the market the price had gone up. Even to call her I was like how do i do it. there’s nothing l can do but to return your money. To me it’s embarrassing because i dont like giving you price and then call you back that its not that amount again

How have you seen the hand of GOD in your business?
There’s nothing you do in this life that if there’s no GOD in it its not going to move anywhere. From day 1 till now I’ve seen different things. Even at home you’ll be doing fine, you understand, once you are doing well and your business is doing fine, thank GOD. Iyen tie lo far.

Did You Know? Groundnut Pyramid
Several years back, local Nigerian companies commenced exporting groundnuts, cashew nuts, sesame seeds, moringa seeds, Ginger, cocoa etc
Groundnut pyramids were the invention of Alhassan Dantata, a prominent nut trader.
Dantata came to Kano in 1919 and within five years was one of the most successful businessmen, supplying the Royal Niger Company (RNC) with most of their groundnuts. Dantata’s company kept their groundnuts at a facility in Kofar Nassarawa, and they stacked the bags in the shape of a pyramid before they were shipped.
One groundnut pyramid could be made from as much as 15,000 full groundnut bags. A journalist who visited a former groundnut pyramid site in Kano reported that the land was now a football field.
Groundnut pyramids were built all across northern Nigeria, in cities like Kofar Mazugal, Brigade, Bebeji, Malam Madori and Dawakin Kudu. The pyramids became synonymous with Nigeria’s agriculture wealth; a postage stamp even featured a groundnut pyramid. However, as groundnut production declined in the 1970s and 80s the groundnut pyramids disappeared and were replaced with buildings.

Ques: Can we take a peep how Palmadex group started?
Ans: Palmadex started in 2015 and was inspired by God in the year 2014, we began the registration with the CAC, and by March 10, 2015, an official Certificate was issued and we began operation once we secured the CAC and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Certificates, so by now we are 8 years in operation.
Ques: Palmadex is regarded as Nigeria’s top exporter of Hibiscus, how do you source Hibiscus for export?
Ans: Hibiscus is a crop that grows in the northern part of Nigeria, essentially from North Central, East and West. Our strategy is that we have our base in the north, precisely Kano State and from there we have chains of suppliers, by our agreements, we commissioned them to source for this product, we are talking about from the farm to our warehouse and there are different approaches to that, in some places, some suppliers may go to the warehouse and in some places in the hinterland and we aggregate those products to the warehouse where we now do our processing before we export.
Ques: What are the challenges you face from the sourcing to the exporting part of your business?
Ans: Major challenges revolves around the regular logistic challenges, given the distance from the North East, and or the condition of our roads, security issues and so sometimes breach of agreement by our local suppliers. Road challenges is top on the list because you have to use vehicles, use other companies, you are not doing all these by yourself and then the potential for some of them to breach agreement on the part of the other service providers – cases of delays, cases of people attempting to do away with your goods, people coming in with stories that affect your timeline. Given the condition of our road network, there has been instances where trucks were held in one particular place for weeks, those are part of the challenges, and this kind is beyond our control.
Ques: How have you been able to surmount these challenges?
Ans: Can we say we surmounted them? I can’t say out rightly Yes, because the road conditions remains the same, but in terms of the logistic companies we use, we make sure we use a reputable company. Companies that are credible, so when we get them, you are now overcoming the challenges of hearing multiple excuses.
Ques: In recent time, Nigeria witnessed a fundamental financial downturn, as an exporter how did you source out for Forex?
Ans: As an exporter, ordinarily we are not expected to face Forex challenges because we don’t depend on the Forex to do our job, as a matter of fact, we add value to the economy, we bring in forex to boost the economy but the challenge is where the value of the naira is depreciating against the dollar for instance, so the cost of goods locally also increase which might affect out projection of what we have already planned, which may mean you will operate at a loss or sometimes try to break even in what we use as a benchmark.
Ques: Palmadex is a non-oil product exporter, what steps have you been taking to sustain the tempo?
Ans: GOD has helped us primarily; we always talked about the GOD factor. GOD has helped us tremendously beyond that, our own efforts as an organization, we have in place systems, policies and procedures that are standardized, that helps us to operate, giving our core values of integrity of trust. We have been able to carve ourselves a niche in the business, we have gained a reputation of been an export company of choice by reason of the value we have added, clients are attesting to it that we are reliable and we have made sure we remain same even when our profit threshold is threatened. Our focus is building a brand that will be competitive globally and that has kept us going.
Ques: Let us look at your entrepreneurial journey and accomplishments?
Ans: The entrepreneurial journey has not been entirely smooth, of course as a business that is starting off, there were challenges that confronted us, but we have been able to surmount the initial teething problem, and we are moving on our pace. In our case we look at milestones, our accomplishment, we look at major things we have achieved. We have been able to have our offices two other nations of the world – Vietnam, Dubai, we have robust client base spread accross the six continents of the world. The positive feedback from our clients accross the globe reinforces our position as export company of choice, In addition we have been enlisted as member of various international organisations like International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), we are the first export company in Nigeria to be enlisted member of ICC. We have been recognized by obtaining various awards as best export performing company, that for us is our achievement, for us to have maintained our operation against all business challenges in the last years that for us also is an achievement, so we have continued to increase our portfolio. We began with just having a portfolio but now we have six portfolios amongst them we have farm – mechanized farming, export academy, export consultancy, export investment etc, so for us these are key milestones that we have achieved in the last 8 years.
Ques: As a globally recognized firm, what is your projection in the next 6 years?
Ans: Our projection for the next five years is to take over the world as Corporate multi-national organization pursuant to our vision of being the global export trading partner of choice, delivering superior services through integrity, efficiency and reliability in the international value chain.
Ques: As an entreprenuer, what is your assessment of doing business in Nigeria?
Ans: My assessment is very simple and direct, it is quiet challenging doing business in Nigeria. The business climate is not quite favourable, not supportive. It takes a strong businessman to remain in business here. There are lot of external factors that are beyond your control that you have to surmount to remain in business –economic policies, insecurity, unstable market price regimes, labour related concerns, right personnel to work with, financial support that is not readily available, so these are the challenges and they are quiet enormous.
Ques: If you are opportuned to write a bill to the National Assembly, what will that be?
Ans: If I am to propose a bill, it is a bill for provision financial support to SMEs. We hear of government grants in some instances, but we need to do more and be practical. If you compare us to some world economies, where you can get as low as zero digit interest rate, in some countries 2 per cent to 3 per cent but in Nigeria we are talking about 23 – 27 per cent, so imagine you have an Act that makes SMEs loan available at 2 per cent? That will provide access to fund and boost investment in SME businesses and will encourage people to go into entrepreneurship
Ques: What is your CSR activities within the years of operation?
Ans: We have our CSR policy, annually we have a budget for CSR. One key one we do is scholarship. We have been able to partner with the Julius Omoyeni Foundation for Educational Development, a Foundation that runs an annual scholarship programs, we also set aside some funds for social investment opportunities that comes across to us. We have a dream to build hospitals, roads, provide water and we believe we are getting there.
Ques: How much is Palmadex worth?
Ans: Palmadex is a multi billion naira organisation. Our staff strength is growing in bounds, we have direct staff and support staffs. Our direct staff is about 20 while our support and indirect staffs is above 170. We have continued to add value to employment and wealth creation, boosting the socio economic development of Nigeria as a business.
